Everything was exactly as described. Great location and cottage was perfect for our 8 family members. The only thing I questioned was that one bath towel and face cloth was not sufficient for an 8 day stay and the blender didn't work. I notified Kees on Wednestay and they said they would send a maintenance person who never showed. But, overall, the cottage was very sufficient and we would not hesitate to use it in the future.

Absolutely wonderful stay at Whalebone Cottages in Nags Head. We have stayed in the same unit for the last three years. 2019 was awesome but 2020 had some cleanliness challenges. We loved the location and decided to give the unit another try. I'm so glad we decided to stay again! I will admit I was skeptical at first after reading some of the reviews that talked about cleanliness. I am happy to say that was not our experience. Our unit was immaculate. Since 2020, the furniture had been cleaned, unit had been painted, grill grates replaced, and it appeared the steps had been replaced. The kitchen had been reorganized and although the kitchen supplies had been reduced, the items left were in good condition. There was more than enough supplies/utensils to cook in the room. Our unit was as clean or cleaner than it was in 2019 when the unit was essentially new. I walked around in sick feet all week and my socks were not dirty. Everything, even lights, were clean in our unit. We loved that the towels are now in sealed plastic packs. We are going to chalk 2020 up to Covid, everything was off that year. We could not be more pleased with the unit or our vacation!

Wonderful Cottage!
Our family rented the cottage at the end of August and we had an amazing time! The cottages themselves were stunning! What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. The beach in front of the cottages is great, no need to go anywhere else! They have a private boardwalk which allows easy access to the beach. Everything that we wanted to do, eat, or see was close by. The pool was very well kept. The views were spectacular, and the ocean could be seen from both floors and the balcony. The owners are very friendly and easy to work with. We had such a great experience and will definitely be coming back!

The perfect Nags Head vacation spot!
We have been coming to OBX for over 40 years (may have missed a year here and there) and this is probably the most perfect place we have stayed. The house itself is lovely, with great furnishings, beautiful ocean view and very quiet as it sets back from the street. Maintenance service was wonderful. We had a couple of very minor issues and Dawn arrived in less than 30 minutes and everything was "fixed" within 15 minutes. I cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you Kees for the wonderful vacation. Hopefully, we will be back next year!

Beautifully furnished and exceptionally well equipped with every dish, cooking pan, pot or piece of silverware that could possibly be needed. Loved the fiesta! We loved it so much we're coming back again this fall!

Perfect Gathering Place
We rented three of these cottages for our December wedding weekend. Each was beautifully decorated, and perfectly maintained. We all gathered in our oceanfront cottage each evening and there was room for all of us in the kitchen and living area. The covered porch and the covered parking area under the cottage are nice for gathering or loading/unloading in weather. We loved the southern OBX location with easy access to Jeanette’s Pier, Manteo, and Oregon Inlet. We would stay here again and highly recommend. Enjoy!
