How Far is It and How to Get There?

There are two ways to get to the Outer Banks - driving and flying. The closest international airport is in Norfolk, VA (ORF). After landing in Norfolk, you will then head south on NC-168 and US-158 where you will drive over the Wright Brothers Memorial Bridge. When you get to the road signs pointing you to NC12 North, you will turn left at the light. (If you continue straight at that light, you will come to the towns of Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head.) Continue onto Hwy 12 N (also known as Ocean Trail) and turn left onto Currituck Clubhouse Drive. There will be a guard gate that allows you entry into the community.

Where is the Beach in Currituck Club?

The beach that is in the Currituck Club is located near the south entrance at the Currituck Beach Access. It is s approximately 2 miles south of the main gate, and there is a county-maintained public parking lot and bathhouse.

There are many beach accesses in Corolla NC; however, this one is super convenient to those staying in the Currituck Club.

What do the Red Flags Mean?

When the lifeguards have put out the red flags, it means NO SWIMMING. The beach will remain open; however, no one is permitted in the water. Please adhere to the red flags!

Do You have Handicapped Transportation at the Beach Access?

At the Currituck Beach Access (where the trolley will take you), you will find the Currituck Club Beach Valet staff. This is a great service allowing any handicapped individuals in the group to enjoy the Outer Banks beach with you! The staff will provide transportation to the beach using beach wheelchairs (as long as there is an accompanying person to assist.) This is a complementary service and is extended to all guests of the Currituck Club.

Trolley Service

There is a trolley service in The Currituck Club which is available from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Guests staying on Hunt Club Drive, Magnolia Way, and Meadow Lane may be picked up at the end of your driveway; all others please walk to the nearest Trolley Stop. While the trolley does not leave the Currituck Club community, it will take you to the Currituck Beach Access. Bring all of our beach gear and leave the driving to us. Or if you want to go to the fitness center or tennis courts, jump on the trolley and they'll take you there!

If you have a large group and want to get to the beach at a specific time, a private trolley is an amazing option for your crew. Choose when you want to be picked up from your house and when you want to leave the beach! Space may be limited due to high demand! Call (252)-453-4011 to make your reservation.

Are Dogs Allowed on the Trolley?

Except for service animals, dogs are not allowed on the trolley.

Trolley Tips:

• Arrive early! The 9:00am and 9:30am runs are not as crowded as the 10:00-2:00 runs.
• Be Patient! Trolleys fill quickly and can be off schedule during peak times.
• Be willing to split up your group. There may not be enough seats for your entire group at once.
• Inclement Weather.  Service will be suspended once all guests are returned home and will resume after the weather clears.

The Surf Shack

The Surf Shack is located at the Currituck Beach Access. They offer a full line of rental equipment including chairs, umbrellas, body/surfboards, and kayaks.  All weekly rental equipment is set up each day awaiting your arrival.  They have freshly made sandwiches, snacks, and drinks available, along with sunscreen and other essential items for your day at the beach.

What Amenities does Currituck Club have to Offer?

The Currituck Club has amazing resort services for those who stay in the community. The community amenities are amazing. There is an 18-hole championship golf course surrounding the community with a putting green and discounted greens fees for guests. Call ahead to schedule your preferred tee times! Guests can also enjoy a sand volleyball court, half-court basketball goals with basketball courts, a total of five community pools* with restrooms and outside showers, a fitness center with free weights and personal trainers, cornhole, bocce ball, shuffleboard, and over 7 lighted (until 11:00pm) tennis courts.

*Private outdoor community pools and/or waterpark play areas are available, weather permitting, beginning on Memorial Day and close after Labor Day. Please know that pool operating dates are subject to change at any point, for any reason.*

Where is the Nearest Spa?

There are two spas located in Corolla (OBX Massage Therapy and Eden Day Spa).
