How Far Is It and How to Get There?

There are two ways to get to Corolla Light - driving and flying. The closest international airport is in Norfolk, VA (ORF). After landing in Norfolk, you will then head south on NC-168 and US-158 (Croatan Hwy) where you will drive over the Wright Brothers Memorial Bridge. When you get to the road signs pointing you to NC12 North, you will turn left. Continue Hwy 12 N (also known as Ocean Trail), through the Town of Duck and you will arrive at Corolla. You will see signs for Corolla Light and the indoor sports center will be on your left.

Is Corolla Light Sports Center Open Every Day?

Yes, the Corolla Light Sport Center is open seven days a week. Whether you are looking for indoor or outdoor activities, the Sport Center has something for everyone. Note that the hours vary by season.

What Are the Rules and Restrictions Here in Corolla Light?

Corolla Light Resort has the following rules and restrictions:

• There is no parking on the streets, grass, or side of the road.

• No RVs, ATVs, campers, golf carts, gas or electric scooters, or boats are allowed in the community.

• Trailers, boats (on boat trailers only), and jet skis (on trailer only) are allowed to be parked on the property ONLY if they fit in the “carport” or “under the house”. If the home has no space under it, it cannot be parked in the community.

• Please do not leave any beach gear - chairs, canopies, umbrellas, etc. - on the beach and/or on the walkways throughout the community. Any items left after sunset will be subject to confiscation.

Remember that these rules are for the safety of all of our guests. We prioritize the safety and comfort of all our guests. Please try and abide by all of the posted rules and restrictions.

What Amenities Does Corolla Light Rentals Offer?

The entire community is a short walk to the beach.

At the resort, there is an Oceanfront Clubhouse with two pools, a baby pool, basketball courts, volleyball, and shuffleboard courts as well as a playground. There is a snack/gift shop and also an outside shower.

With the indoor sports center, you will find a lap pool, racquetball/wallyball courts, indoor tennis courts, aerobic room, hot tub, sauna, and both a cardio room and weight room.

Throughout Corolla Light, you will discover eight outdoor tennis courts, a Currituck soundside pool and picnic area with a gazebo, a soundfront pier, a volleyball court, and walking and bike paths. If you want to go fishing, there is even a fishing pond (catch and release only, please).

The Corolla Light Association uses armbands to gain access to these amenities. Vacation rentals are provided with armbands for use of the facilities.

Enjoy the Corolla Light Trolley which has stops located throughout the resort. This free trolley service will take you and your guests wherever needed within the community.

The location of Corolla Light is convenient to local restaurants, grocery stores, beach shops, boutiques, and attractions such as the Whalehead Club, Currituck Lighthouse, and even the 4x4 area of Corolla. It is also close to the Tim Buck II shopping center, Monterey Plaza, and a movie theater. For the golfers of the group, the Resort is only about 5 miles away from The Currituck Club, a beautiful golf course.
