Where Is The Tides Located?

The Tides is ideally situated in the heart of Kill Devil Hills around MP 7.5. It is located on Va Dare Trail centrally located near the Wright Brothers Memorial, restaurants, shopping, and attractions.

How Far Is It And How To Get There?

There are two ways to get to The Tides - driving and flying. The closest international airport is in Norfolk, VA (ORF). After landing in Norfolk and upon arrival in North Carolina, you will head south on NC-168 and US-158 continuing over the Wright Brothers Memorial Bridge. Stay straight at the NC12 turn and continue south on Croatan Hwy through the town of Kitty Hawk and the next town you come to will be Kill Devil Hills. Turn left onto E. Landing Drive. Turn right onto N Va Dare and continue until you arrive at 709 N Va Dare Trail.  

What Should I Know About Staying in the Tides?

We ask that you abide by the following policies. These are in place to help everyone have a great vacation.

• All guests must be at least 24 years of age to check into the resort. 
• Pets are allowed, but please make sure to pick up your animal. (Also, please remember that if the sand is too hot for your feet, it’s too hot for your dog’s feet!)  
• There is no RV and/or trailer parking in the community.  
• Do not park in the Travelodge parking lot.  

What Amenities Does The Tides Have To Offer?

This unique, pet-friendly community has an array of amenities. Each home features its own private pool and outdoor shower. For the grill masters, enjoy the outdoor gas grill at each unit. There is covered parking to keep your vehicles extra safe. Your vacation rental will have a private game/media Room.  

These brand-new homes have ample living space, two comfortable living areas (one with an electric fireplace), modern fixtures, a fully stocked kitchen, and ample dining area for the whole group. These cottages offer outdoor decks that can provide glorious ocean views. You will love the feel of the salty breezes as you sip your coffee each morning. All units are pet-friendly and come with an elevator. 

All visitors who stay in The Tides will enjoy the private, easy walkway to the ocean which has benches and a gazebo. You will be in awe of how convenient a walk to and from the beach is at The Tides. Spend hours soaking in the rays or enjoying water activities like fishing, surfing, and/or paddleboarding. All units will get the experience of having in-season Farmdog Umbrella services for an even greater beach experience. This will be all set up for you when you are ready to use it.  

The location alone is an amenity. Not only are you a quick walk to the ocean but you are centrally located in the town of Kill Devil Hills. This allows you to be close to restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, and attractions. Close to your vacation rental is the Wright Brothers National Memorial. You are also not too far from several amazing golf courses, the town of Nags Head, Kitty Hawk/Southern Shores, and points north like Duck and Corolla. Even a drive down south to Hatteras is not too long! 

Note that private outdoor pools and/or waterpark play areas are available, weather permitting, beginning on Memorial Day and closing after Labor Day. Please know that pool operating dates are subject to change at any point, for any reason.
