How Far is It and How to Get There?

There are two ways to get to the Ocean Sands community in Corolla - driving and flying. The closest international airport is in Norfolk, VA (ORF). After landing in Norfolk, you will then head south on NC-168 and US-158 where you will drive over the Wright Brothers Memorial Bridge. When you get to the road signs pointing you to NC12 North, you will turn left. (If you stay straight, you will get to the towns of Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head down Croatan Hwy.) Continue Hwy 12N (also known as Ocean Trail), through the Town of Duck and you will arrive at Corolla. You will see signs for Ocean Sands with the different sections indicated.

What Are the Rules I Should Know in Ocean Sands?

When staying in Ocean Sands in Corolla, we kindly ask guests to adhere to certain rules.

Golf carts (even if they are street legal) are prohibited vehicles in Ocean Sands. In addition, there is no motor home nor trailer parking in the community.

Ocean Sands is a pet-friendly community, allowing guests to bring their furry friends along for a memorable beach vacation. However, we request responsible pet ownership, including proper waste disposal and keeping pets on a leash when outside. Make sure you are reserving a vacation rental that allows pets!

Loud noise and disturbances are not allowed after 11:00pm in the Ocean Sands community.

Please take all beach gear - chairs, tents, canopies, etc. - back to your rental each day as any items left on the beach after sunset are subject to confiscation.
