Here at KEES, we believe that all family members should be able to go on vacation with you, even the furry ones! We understand that it can be difficult to find somewhere to board your pets while you are away, which is why we provide our guests with dog friendly vacation rentals from Hatteras to Corolla, and everywhere in between!
KEES Outer Banks offers a variety of Kitty Hawk pet-friendly vacation rentals in Kitty Hawk. There are currently 3 pet-friendly homes in Kitty Hawk that allow you to bring your furry friend for your stay for a minimal pet fee. This means the entire family can enjoy vacation and all stay together! We are guessing that the kids sure will love this. Find comfort in knowing you can leave your pooch in the air conditioning while you are on a trip exploring the Outer Banks. If your vacation rental has a fenced-in yard, your dog can run around while you hang out in the hot tub or private pool.
Enjoy your vacation adventures and have plenty of room for your pet to play as we know your pet is a vital part of the family. Frolic on the beach, jump in the waves/ocean, or hit one of the many walking trails.
The Outer Banks has several parks where pets are allowed and can play with other dogs. KEES Outer Banks has pet-friendly vacation rentals in other nearby towns as well. Corolla, Manteo, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head all have pet-friendly rentals. Read More.
Dogs on the Beach
You and your pooch can spend time together on Kitty Hawk beaches year-round, but there are time restrictions! From the Friday before Memorial Day to the day after Labor Day between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm, all dogs must be on a leash no longer than six feet. When in public areas, dogs should be on leashes retractable to 12 feet or less.
During the rest of the year, Fido can run free so long as you are able to control him, and he stays within 30 feet of you! Make sure you have your leash and baggies on hand, of course, just in case!
Please remember to be courteous and respect the safety of other dogs and humans by picking up after your pet on the beach and around town. Also, note that all of the towns covering the Outer Banks have different leash laws.
Besides the beautiful sandy beaches, you will find several other places to visit and explore with your pup. The Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve is filled with different critters and birds and the sound makes the perfect escape from the usual hustle and bustle on the beach during the summer months. You and your pets can kayak the small barrier island waters, paddleboard, or windsurf as you observe all of the wildlife found near the sound. Access to the Reserve is via the multi-use path that runs along Woods Road, at various trailheads, or by kayak. The multi-use path is maintained by the Town and can be accessed by two small parking lots, one located at David Paul Pruitt Park (next to Dominion Power) and the other at Sandy Run Park. From the path, visitors and their dogs can walk along the edge of the Reserve. Trail-goers can access the Reserve year-round!
Tired of playing in the sand? There are several dog parks on the Outer Banks. Their locations are Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, and Manteo.
Need to decide where to eat? Plenty of restaurants in Kitty Hawk are dog friendly and will make sure you and your pup have an excellent dining experience! Be sure to check out these local favorites: Arts Place, Shipwrecks, The Black Pelican, and John’s Drive-In!
